A Unesco World Heritage site since 1996, Alberobello and its 1400 “trulli” is internationally famous.
The trulli are characteristic of central and southern Puglia, built from dry stones laid on top of one another. They have whitewashed bases and a conical roof: the trullo is known and admired all over the world!
Taking a stroll through Alberobello is a unique and unforgettable experience: the tourist area of Monti with its shops and restaurants, Aia Piccola which is more authentic, the Church in the shape of a trullo dedicated to St. Nicholas… you won’t find another place in the world like it!
It is not only enjoyable to walk through Alberobello, you are warmly advised to make a culinary stop to enjoy the excellent local wine and local produce of very high quality.
Inside a real trullo, you will be able to taste the real Puglia, smell its bold scents and see the colours of the earth. Nor must you forget to try the famous “Pasqualino” sandwich, the real icon of Alberobello and an absolute delight from Puglia: a sandwich filled with tuna, capers, salami and cheese. A contrasting and unique mixture of ingredients, which will remember!
As well as the legendary Pasqualino sandwich, you will also find typical cold cuts, mozzarellas and cheeses, taralli in various flavours, dried broad beans, crostini and many other delicious lip-licking things!
An enjoyable stop for the view and the palate!
